On Tuesday
we went to the library. We spoke to 3 nice women. We discovered the following
information about Bundoran´s history:
Bundoran was
settled in 1653. It was originally 2 villages- The East End (where the Catholics
live) and in West End (where the protestants live).
An interesting thing that
we learnt is the meaning of the irish flag: the green part represents the Catholic
people, the orange part represent the Protestant people and the white in the middle
is the union between the two.
Bundoran means:
“the foot of the water”
The first inhabitants
were fishermen and farmers.
